The NC-ACTS! AmeriCorps program is seeking volunteer afterschool sites throughout the state of North Carolina to place members.  This AmeriCorps program, launched in 2004, mobilizes college students to complete 300 hours of volunteer service in one year.  In return, students earn an education award to use towards education related costs.  For the 2010-11 program year, the program is placing special emphasis on mentoring and childhood obesity prevention. 

Afterschool programs are eligible that operate in any of the following locations and have available opportunities in mentoring or childhood obesity prevention that could utilize a volunteer for at least 10 hours per week.
